Influenced by his father, Gary Sze To was attracted to photography at a young age, and in high school he was an active member of the photography club. He later met professional photographer Au Yeung Chi Kong, and under his guidance Gary further developed his skills and capabilities.
Gary was elected president of the Photographic Club for the Deaf in 2009, and during his term he took part in many exhibitions to promote disabled art. He received wide acclaim for his works, including second runner-up in indoor and outdoor creative photography at the 8th Hong Kong Abilympics.
Gary is an active volunteer, and has made tremendous contributions towards the welfare of the hearing impaired for the past twenty years. In 2008 he won the Outstanding Volunteer Award in recognition of his volunteering efforts by the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf.
